About the Tip Calculator

The tool works with three inputs: the bill amount, a tip percentage, and the number of people sharing the cost. It multiplies the bill by the percentage to get the tip, adds the tip to the bill, and divides the total by the number of people. The result shows both the tip amount and each person's share. A practical tip: many diners base the percentage on the pre-tax subtotal rather than the final total, so check your receipt before entering the amount.
