About the Percent Error Calculator
This percent error calculator measures how far an experimental value sits from an accepted theoretical value. Enter both numbers and you get the percent error, a single percentage that shows the size of the difference relative to the true value.
The calculator applies the standard percent error formula: |experimental − theoretical| / |theoretical| × 100. You enter two inputs, your measured result and the accepted reference value, both expressed in the same units. The absolute value bars mean the result is never negative. One practical tip: keep the theoretical value nonzero, because the formula divides by it and a zero reference makes the percent error undefined.
