About the Rounding Calculator
The Rounding Calculator rounds any number to the decimal places, significant figures, or nearest value you choose. Enter a number and a rounding setting, and the tool returns the rounded result right away. You also see the original value next to it so you can compare.
The calculator applies the standard round half up rule. It looks at the first digit after the rounding position: if that digit is 5 or higher, the last kept digit increases by one, and otherwise it stays the same. Inputs are the number itself plus the rounding mode and precision, such as two decimals or three significant figures. A practical tip: decimal places and significant figures are not the same, since 0.001234 to three significant figures gives 0.00123.
- Type your number into the input field.
- Pick a rounding mode and set the precision.
- Press calculate and read the rounded result.
