About the Factor Calculator
This factor calculator finds every factor of any positive integer and shows its full prime factorization. Enter a number and you get a complete list of divisors, the prime factorization written with exponents, and the total count of factors.
The calculator uses trial division, the standard method for factoring. It tests each integer from 1 up to the square root of your number and records both divisors in each factor pair. The only input is a positive whole number. Use the prime factorization to find the greatest common factor or least common multiple of two numbers quickly.
- Type a positive whole number into the input field.
- Press the calculate button to run the factoring process.
- Read the factor list and prime factorization in the results.
