About the Square Footage Calculator
This calculator computes square footage for rooms, floors, and construction projects. Enter your dimensions and it returns the total area in square feet, along with matching values in square inches or square meters. You can also add several sections together to cover an entire floor plan.
The calculator uses the standard rectangle formula: area equals length multiplied by width. For rooms that are not perfect rectangles, split the space into smaller rectangles, calculate each one, and add the results. Enter each measurement in feet, or provide inches and the tool converts them for you. Measure the longest wall for length and the perpendicular wall for width, and write down each figure as you go.
