About the Electricity Calculator
This calculator estimates how much electricity an appliance uses and what it costs to run. Enter the device details and you get daily, monthly, and yearly energy use in kilowatt-hours along with the total cost.
The calculation follows the standard energy formula: wattage multiplied by hours of use, divided by 1000, gives kilowatt-hours. The calculator then multiplies that result by your electricity rate per kWh to show the cost. You need three inputs: the appliance power rating in watts, the hours it runs per day, and your price per kilowatt-hour from your utility bill. For accurate wattage, check the nameplate label on the device rather than guessing.
