This calculator estimates how much mulch your landscaping project requires. Enter the size of the area and the desired depth, and it returns the volume in cubic yards, cubic feet, and the number of bags needed. This helps you order the right amount without waste or shortage.
The calculation follows the standard volume formula: area multiplied by depth, converted to cubic yards by dividing by 27. You provide the length and width in feet, or the total square footage, plus a depth in inches, usually between 2 and 4. A practical tip is to convert inches to feet by dividing by 12 before calculating, which the tool handles automatically. For irregular beds, measure a bounding rectangle and round up slightly.
